Mission

To provide a place where people can experience and enjoy the quiet wild of nature.  We want to inspire current and future generations to care for the natural world.


Vision
To be a national leader in environmental stewardship and education and the region’s premier nature center.

  • The Fontenelle Forest pass can only be used with a valid library card that's in good standing.

  • Each pass admits 2 adults and up to 5 children un 18.

  • Children under 2 are free.

  • Visitors must check out the pass for the day of the week they plan to visit the Forest (eg. check out a "Thursday" pass to visit on Thursday and cannot visit on Friday using the 'Thursday' pass)

  • Library passes include most of the benefits and discounts of the household membership.

    •   10% discount in the gift shop

    •  Free admission during visiting hours to the nature center, raptor woodland refuge, and Neale woods on the day of visit. Visitors may stay until sunset year-round.

  • The Lauritzen Gardens pass is available to borrow with a valid library card in good standing.

  • The pass must be returned to the library within 3 days of checkout.

  • The family pass admits 2 adults and children under 18 from the same household and is not eligible for any Lauritzen Garden membership benefits other than admission.

Pottawattamie Conservation Parks

Pottawattamie Conservation includes 5 parks and 6 habitats that encompass nearly 2,000 acres across Pottawattamie County. The parks and habitats showcase the diverse landscape of the county while offering a variety of activities, from hiking to camping to fishing.

Day passes to Pottawattamie County Conservation parks are available to borrow.

 

  • The pass must be returned to the library within 3 days of checkout.

  • Passes admit one vehicle for one day into any Pottawattamie Conservation area, including Arrowhead Park, Botna Bend Park, Hitchcock Nature Center, Narrows River Park, and Old Town Park.

  • Passes are available on a first-come, first serve basis.

 

Holds cannot be placed on passes and only one pass can be checked out on an adult card at one time.

Henry Doorly Zoo

The library gets Zoo Passes four times a year.   October, December, February, April

LIMITED QUANTITIES

Mission

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium's mission is to inspire, educate and engage people to serve as lifelong stewards for the conservation of animals and their habitats.

  • Tickets issued for each session will be valid for 60 days based on the beginning distribution date.  Tickets are non-transferable and there will not be a cash value assigned to the cards.

  • Public library card holders may pick up Zoo tickets at your local library through your programming. 

  • Each ticket must be presented by the library cardholder along with their valid public library card at the Zoo admission entry point for the ticket to be valid. 

  • These are one-time use tickets.

  • Passes are available on a first-come, first, serve basis and admit up to 2 adults (ages 12 and over) and 6 children (ages 11 and under). 

  • Holds cannot be placed on passes and an individual/ family can only receive one pass per session. 

  • A finite number of passes are distributed throughout the year during 4 sessions.  The next session will be in the winter.

Omaha Children’s Museum is the most visited museum in Nebraska. Since its inception in 1976, Omaha Children's Museum has been a special place where children can challenge themselves, discover how the world works, and learn through play. It is Omaha’s primary participatory museum and provides a variety of hands-on exhibits, workshops, programs, presentations, and special events that put children in touch with their ever-changing world.

 

A family pass to the Omaha Children’s Museum is available to borrow.

  • The pass must be returned to the library within 3 days of checkout.

  • The family pass admits 2 adults and up to 6 children under 18 from the same household and includes entrance to all exhibits.

The Durham Museum

The Durham Museum

Making its home in one of Omaha’s most unique treasures, Union Station, The Durham Museum offers a fascinating look at the history of our region and offers a broad range of traveling exhibits covering subjects ranging from history and culture, science, industry, and more through our affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution and strong ties with the Library of Congress, National Archives and the Field Museum.
